I stopped by Creative Arts Workshop (CAW) yesterday and got these photos of a pottery class/workshop. CAW is at 80 Audubon Street and is a great New Haven organization that teaches people in the visual arts, covering many disiplines. If you ever thought about exploring a particular medium, or learning more about one that you currently pursue, this would be a great place to do it. The pottery shop at CAW is such a great gathering place for folks to meditate at the wheel and be inspired by very talented instructors – and you get to hang out with the nicest group of fellow potters. I love it here!
BTW, the firing of the kiln continued to run smoothly the whole way. Happily the top and bottom cones showed an even temp throughout. (That's really tough to do on an updraft kiln. It must have been the good vibes you brought with you when you visited the shop!)
