As you might have realized by now, I love photographing the Winchester Repeating Arms Factory Building. Winchester played a significant role in shaping our city, and even our country. I even worked there in the late 90’s in the Barrel Department. At that point operations were moved to a smaller facility on Winchester and Division Street. The larger building has been left to fend for itself against the elements and deterioration since the early 90’s. The current configuration is only temporary though. The building will be renovated into residential units soon and that’s one of the main reasons I go in there as often as I do. We have a right to see what it looks like, we own it too.
I’ve always appreciated the interesting reflections going on in there on the floors, particularly after a good rain. This weekend was a unique opportunity to visit the building and see more flooding than I’ve encountered during any of my previous adventures. Here are my favorite ten images that I got yesterday.
