Saturday was Youth Summit at Wexler Grant School. Many adults who are engaged with our youth were present but it was a day for the young people to live up to this year’s theme – Youth Have The Power.
Speaking of adults here is Rachel who is in the process of directing some part of the day. When you attend the Youth Summit you see Rachel and you see her constantly motion. The one time I saw her stand still was when the young people were on the stage and dancing freely. I am not sure if the young people had the bigger smiles or if Rachel did.
The young people engaged others in their peer group and younger with interactive skits about the things that they may face while trying to live day to day.
After the skits were done the kids showed of their skills on the dance floor.
Apparently every young person present knows every dance move. And without practice they performed them in unison.
Several young people graced the stage to demonstrate a talent. There were singers, ribbon artists and poets. Here Sabir performs a poem in black mask.
