I’ve been craving some street portraits lately, so I went out and got some today. There’s something very special about human connection and interaction, and the ability to show that through photography is a gift. I also asked most of the subjects for one fact about themselves that people might surprised by.
Charles work for the NH Parks Department and they were on the Green getting things ready for tomorrow’s road race. A fact people might be surprised by ” I’m pushing 70 years old and still going strong.”
Dan is a student at Yale. A fact people might be surprised by: “I’m a psychology major (in female dominated focus), men can be empathetic and connect with people too.”
Lesly is a guard at 900 Chapel Street. No facts given, but she’s really cool.
Anthony was chilling in his ’67 Thunderbird at the corner of Chapel and High in front of Starbucks. A fact people might be surprised by: “I’m retired and was a gardener for Yale for many years.”
Ryan is the manager at Blue State on York. A fact people might be surprised by: “I’m an avid Disney fan.”
Dallas is a phenomenal Realtor in New Haven County, is an Event/Wedding Planner, has a weekly radio talk show, and in his spare time is the Lead Concierge at 360 State Street. A fact people might be surprised by: “I’m doing wedding planning now too, and on my way to my first wedding for a couple that are US Coast Guards.”
Baub is a spoken word poet/activist and runs a monthly spoken word series called “Free2Spit” (and I took this photo before I had the idea to ask for a fact)
Well this is me playing around with a recently purchased wireless shutter trigger (with a tripod). A fact people might be surprised by: I delivered the New Haven Register for over six years as a teen and believe that it’s one of the main reasons why I’m able to connect with people the way that I do.
