Last night was the final Compline service of the Fall at Christ Church. Photos are not allowed during Compline, which happens every Sunday night during the academic term. The church is only lit by candle and the entire service is sung based in Roman chant. Compline services date back to the 7th Century.
After Compline last night, there was a special Eucharist service, in which photos were allowed. That’s how we have these. It was particularly challenging because the church was pitch black except for the candles, so lots of the shots were guess work. Thank god for tripods and long exposures.
