On Saturday March 21st Mothers Demand Action honored several people in the New Haven community who have worked over the years to make it a better place to live. Their work has focused on our children, advocacy for people and their economic opportunity, civil rights and much more.
The individuals honored ranged from people in politics to people who run programs, are activists in our streets and included a police officer. A group not always lauded for what they do (save maybe the politicians) Mothers Demand Action took the day to say…Good Job!

Rep. Robyn Porter thanks Mothers Demand Action for the honor |
Long time activist Barbara Fair speaks on what the work is she does and why it is important. Barbara receives an award she did not know she was getting. |
Here I am surprised by being honored as well for my work as a senator and activism. I bring this young man Keyari to accept the award with me. Young people are at the heart of what I do. |
These may be very serious people but they know how to have fun as well. |
