(I had an issue with my camera this weekend so here is a great repost from April 19th)
These are some street portraits I got around downtown over the weekend. I asked each of the subjects for a fact about themselves which others might be surprised by. The responses are beneath each photo.
Amanda; surprising fact: she’s read 167 books since the beginning of the year (and way over 1000 in her lifetime) |
Roberto; surprising fact: He is very into philosophy. Buddha is his favorite philosopher. |
Zoe (left); surprising fact: she leaves all of her things scattered everywhere but never has a problem finding any of it, Taylor; surprising fact: she’s really a nice person, although she has RBF. Machete (the dog); surprising fact: woof woof woof woof! I’m kidding, Machete is a retired champion racing Greyhound. |
(left to right) Jalisa; loves to eat and just finished a burrito from Chipolte in under two minutes, Lola; surprising fact: she speaks fluent Yoruba, which is the language of Nigeria, Chuck; surprising fact: he played lacrosse at Wilbur Cross H.S. for three years and he misses it. |
Anika; I took this photo before I was into the “surprising fact” concept, but I know Anika and I was happily surprised to find out that she’s teaching at the Law School now. |
Heidi; surprising fact: that she’s not a concert pianist |
Chad; surprising fact:is an MMA fighter, Gabrielle had no surprising facts to reveal at this time. |
David; surprising fact: despite being permanently wheelchair-bound, he’s really good with his hands. |
Vishal; surprising fact: he’s been hit by a car and a bus (not at the same time, I asked) |
Yalun; surprising fact: he’s on the Varsity Fencing Team at Yale and walked in as a freshman with no prior athletic experience |
Daryl, surprising fact; he’s really a fun and funny person |
JB; surprising fact; he LOVES music and dancing. That was very apparent to me, because at the time of this photo, JB was blasting a home stereo system the he plugged in on the Green. See the next photo. |
notice the remote control in JB’s hand. the stereo was blasting old school R+B all over the Green |
I love New Haven and I love taking pictures! I also make a living as a photographer. Photographically speaking, I’m a savant. For work, I mainly shoot people/events/weddings, and corporate and residential real estate/architecture. I also sell prints of my New Haven images, and licence them for web and print use.
If you need the services of a photographer, let me know. I’d love to talk with you about how I can help you. Email me: chris@chrisrandallphotos.com or call me: 203-499-7194.
