We can’t wait for the perfect school, the perfect resources or perfect time…right now…today…we have the perfect you and we have kids who need you. Let’s go now, today, together and change lives!
Since we began the tour there has been quite a bit said. Some of it praise. Some criticism. People believed it was a one off thing. They believed that when the press left we would leave. It was never about that. It was never to suggest that we can save the world greeting young people with positive affirmations as they enter school and spending a little time with them in the building. It has been and continued to be about the power a small showing of love can have in an individual’s life. It has been and continues to be about the little boy at the first event who when he finished going through the line turned to look back at those who had just greeted him. He was asked what was wrong. His response…this school year was going to be great. We didn’t know. We had no way of knowing but his kindergarten had been horrible. He knew from the minute it started and so he started at a new school. He was nervous but when he got off the bus and walked through that line he knew…this year was going to be great.
