Last week, we wrote how Desmone Gambrell wanted to bring the
community together through art in her first event Vibe Session 1. Yesterday
that event was held, and she definitely brought the community together. In an
event full of nothing but positive vibes and togetherness, people came together
to express themselves or to listen to those that needed to have a voice.
Everyone was encouraged to participate. People came in planning only to be part
of the audience, found themselves signing up to be part of open mic. One person
was just taking a walk in the area, went inside to check the event out, and
ended up singing for everyone. Vendors brought their creations, to which I
fought all night not to buy everything (I still ended up coming home with a bag
full of thing). Vibe Session 1 was a definite success and hopefully more will
