My name is Jillian Lyons, I am an artist and small business entity. Jillian Lyons Designs focuses on my handmade jewelry, costume accessories and photos. Valley Vintage features vintage clothing and kitschy fun stuff. I use all elements of these businesses to create unusual photos.
Halloween is my favorite day of the year. It’s something I think about all year round. So when Project Storefronts offered me the use of their Popup 55 shop during the week of Halloween it seemed like the perfect outlet to fuse my own work and businesses with my favorite day. It was like a week long excuse for a my own little Halloween celebration.
So from October 27th to November 3rd we had a constantly changing theme and filled the shop with costumey vintage clothing, costume accessories and actual vintage costumes. Some of my favorite shots from our week are enclosed. Customers having fun, our now infamous dress form DeBorah in costumes, myself at Popup55 in costume on Halloween. Also Abstract Koncepts and model Julia Karen came down and did a little sidewalk photo shoot, which we had to shut down early. Julia in her corset and wings caused a traffic jam and near accidents on Church Street! It was an amazing time.
