Artist’s Statement: ” I’m a student at Yale Divinity School, and getting out and photographing around campus and the city helps me to cope with the stress of school and gives me some perspective. It always reminds me how much I love being here at this stage in my life and helps me appreciate this unique setting. I end up taking a lot of pictures of campus architecture. It’s kind of my dirty secret that the aesthetic of the buildings played a much larger role in my decision to come here than that kind of thing has any rational right to. My camera memory cards tend to read like a love letter to James Gamble Rogers, but I’m always amazed by how much this New Haven to offer beyond the old icons. This city keeps surprising me, and I would like to explore that aspect more as I develop my photography here. I love New Haven.”
