In April 1775, the Governor’s Foot Guard, under command of Benedict Arnold, marched from New Haven to Cambridge, Massachusetts to join the American Revolution–
but first, they demanded the keys to the Powder House, so they could be armed.
This year marked the 241st observance of the departure of the command to Cambridge
