New Haven needs more of this kind of positive neighborhood involvement, showcasing what our communities are really like. Instead of the negative images mainstream media only focuses on. Thanks Jeff and my man Chris for documenting such a great community event.

Thanks Kenny. I agree that we need to cover more positive things – Chris and I are trying to do that here. TV news is the worst offender, although they do sometimes cover positive things. The New Haven independent does a decent job. The New Haven Register features our blog and many others on their Community Media Lab so they are trying to make an effort here. In general, we still have a long way to go where positive things get the same attention as sensational or tragic news events.
