Wednesday’s Guest Photographer – Bioregional Garden by Maria Tuper

October 24, 2012 by Guest Photographer

These are a few images of the Bioregional Garden from the beginning of the season to the present. The Bioregional Garden is now in its 5th season. We work in our garden as a group once a week and then share in all the produce that we grow. We start all of our seedlings. Early in the year in February or March we come together to go through the seed catalogs and decide on what we will grown for the coming year. Because we do not have individual plots in our garden we are able to grow a wide variety of produce. Of course we grow the usual tomatoes, eggplant, peppers. But we also grow potatoes, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, leeks, and a number of other interesting veggies. This year we grew black beans that we are drying. One of the ideas behind black beans is growing crops that we can put in our pantry and store.

I love the first shot. Which is a Colonial house in architecture. Something about it scream contemporary in which the photo saves it in time.

Thanks Xian. New Haven has a lot of interesting architecture. We have mixed styles as well as classic ones. It can be fun walking around various neighborhoods to see what you can find. Thanks for the comment.
