Happy New Year!
As we enter the new year I thought about doing a post more in line with that annual reality but realized that my content of the last two weeks was very much in the vain of ‘it’s the end of the year so…‘. Instead, here is a brief look at Dr. J and Company on Ugly Radio.
I first heard of this online show a couple of months back. During working for one of the several mayoral campaigns that were going on Dr J (Tamiko Jackson McArthur) and I had a conversation where she mentioned the show in passing. Remembering the conversation and having an opportunity one evening I tuned in. Honestly, I was prepared for anything. When I went back to school a few years ago I ran the radio station. This show was fun, it had pacing and there was something to learn as well.
The Company in Dr. J and Company are friends of the shows host and those relationships add to the flavor of the show.
The night I was there one of the Company was Dr. Brown-Dean who has been a very nice addition to the more traditional show on WNPR ‘Where We Live’ (and doing a great job).
In the new year it would be worth your time to take a listen. Dr. J and Company are online and have a far reach but they are very much here in New Haven and worth the listen (Wednesday’s 8-10).
