1. It’s all volunteer – the team members even pay dues to be a part of the team and spend tons of time not only practicing, but setting up the venue, marketing, promotions and more. It’s a ton of time and a major commitment. They can use your help by attending the bouts and spreading the word.
2. They sell beer and awesome cupcakes at the bouts!

I have an interesting history with rollerskating. I first really learned how to rollerskate at my first job. I was a carhop at sonic and delivered food on skates. Boy do I have some funny/embarrassing stories from that! Anyway, that's also when I first learned about roller derby. I've always wanted to see one live, but never have! It's on my new haven bucket list.
Learning to skate while serving food must have been interesting!
