Here are some of my favorite photos from the 2026 Freddy Fixer Parade. At the bottom of this post you’ll find a link to the full gallery containing nearly 600 photos from today’s parade. There are also links to the last few Freddy Fixer Parades. You’re welcome to download and share them for personal use.
There are a handful of events every year that remind me why I started I Love New Haven. The Freddy Fixer Parade is one of them.
Today, thousands of people lined Dixwell Avenue to celebrate a tradition that has been bringing New Haven together for generations. The music, the dancing, the marching bands, the community groups, the families gathered along the route—it’s one of those days when the city feels connected.
The Freddy Fixer Parade is more than just a parade. It’s a celebration of community pride, culture, history, and resilience. As the oldest Black American parade in New England, it represents an important part of New Haven’s story and continues to bring people together year after year.
Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, participants, and everyone who helped make today’s event possible.
Enjoy the photos, and thank you for helping make New Haven such a special place.
